The Bank donates MUR 4 million to the Covid-19 Solidarity Fund

Standard Bank Mauritius has donated MUR 4 million (Approx USD 100,000) to the Covid-19 Solidarity Fund to boost the Government’s efforts to support the population and the community at large who are being affected by Covid-19.

Lakshman Bheenick, Chief Executive, Standard Bank Mauritius said, “In this time of crisis, we must rally together as one nation to combat Covid-19. As a responsible and caring corporate citizen, we have a vital role to support the Government to ensure a sustained effort in the fight against the disease and to protect the most vulnerable within our society.”

In addition to this donation, Standard Bank Mauritius is also rallying its employees behind the cause by asking them to contribute generously to the Covid-19 Solidarity Fund.

The MUR 4 million donation is a first step to support the vulnerable impacted by Covid-19. Standard Bank will continue to monitor Covid-19 developments in Mauritus and, working closely with designated NGOs, will provide additional support where it is most needed.

“Standard Bank stands with in solidarity with the people of Mauritius during this difficult period,” Lakshman Bheenick added.
