David Mutaka joined Standard Bank (Mauritius) Ltd as Head: People and Culture in September 2024. David is a seasoned human resources professional with over 20 years in the banking industry. Prior to this appointment, he was the Head: People and Culture at Stanbic Bank Uganda since 2020.

He has had a long career with Stanbic Bank Uganda, joining in 2010 and has held various senior roles over the years as Head Sales Personal & Business Banking, Senior Manager Learning & Development, Senior Human Capital Business Partner - Corporate & Investment Banking, respectively. David was previously Head, Human Resources at Ecobank Uganda from 2008 to 2010. He started his career at Standard Chartered Bank Uganda in 2004 and left as Head, HR Service Delivery.
