Devalingum Gopalla is a Partner at Dentons Mauritius and his areas of expertise are banking, finance, capital markets, private equity, mergers and acquisitions. He has previously served as Director of Legal for an African multilateral financial institution and has more than 15 years of experience acting as lead counsel in Mauritius on several project finance transactions with an ESG focus element including advising US financial institutions on cross border bond issuance and collaborating on a number of structured finance projects for the African and Asia markets. He is a qualified barrister in England & Wales and Mauritius and has also served as the Mauritius Chapter Chair for the International Committee of the New York State Bar Association. 

Appointed as Independent Director of Standard Bank (Mauritius) Limited in January 2024 and is the Chairperson of the Board Credit Committee.
