Rod Poole joined the Standard Bank Group in 1984. He is the Chairman of the Board Nomination and Remuneration Committee of Standard Bank (Mauritius) Limited. He held various key positions within Standard Bank Group namely in Finance, IT and HR including serving as Head: Human Resources Corporate and Investment Banking at Standard Bank Plc London, Head: Human Resources CIB and Head: Human Capital, Marketing and Communications CIB at The Standard Bank of South Africa, and Chief of Staff, Corporate and Investment Banking at Standard Bank Group, and Head: Change and Business Transformation of Standard Bank Group, a position he occupied until his retirement in February 2022.

Appointed as Director of Standard Bank (Mauritius) Limited in November 2016 and is the Chairman of the Board Nomination and Renumeration Committee.
