We strive to create a learning organisation that proactively develops the skills and competencies needed to achieve Standard Bank’s vision and values. We also consider the future learning needs of the Bank, to ensure that talented, skilled and performance-driven people are leading our future growth.
Learning and Development is an essential, constant process clearly reflected in many of our people management processes. It is intrinsic to our business strategy, and is closely linked to the needs of individuals, business units, and our whole organisation.
We work very hard to make sure that our leadership development programmes are integrated with these needs, and that we achieve the highest standards of consistency across leadership development, coaching and mentoring, knowledge management, compliance, and both intra- and interpersonal development. We respect the unique needs of each business unit, providing targeted development where required, and we always focus on developing shared skills and competencies to drive performance within our business.
While we support the development of all our people through our Learning and Development Programmes, and through broader HR initiatives, we recognise that individuals are ultimately responsible for accelerating their own development.
